QOYA 2017 in Washington, DC
I will be offering Qoya at The Dance Loft 2-3 times per month in 2017. I carefully curate the music to enhance the theme of each class. My past playlists can be found on Spotify. The music is my co-facilitator for the classes. Together, we offer cathartic and expansive mind body connections and experiences.
My intention is to build a community for women who are evolving and transforming, supporting women to rise together in their gifts and power. All women are welcome. If you are closeted energy person, someone who knows her magic, a dancer, or uncoordinated as anything, join us.
Each class can hold 30 women, and the classes fill in advance.

Qoya is based on the idea that through movement we remember our essence as wise, wild, and free. And using dance, yoga, and sensual movement, we learn to trust the sensation of truth in our bodies...and this becomes North on our compass as we live our lives.
There's no way to do Qoya "right," and the only way you're doing it right is that it feels good.
Looking forward to moving with you,
Women who come to Qoya tell me :
- I can't believe this exits in DC. I've been looking for this!
- I didn't know how much I needed to dance with other women.
- I had no idea what to expect. This exceeded my expectations!
- I've realized how much I miss being connected to women. I am surrounded by a ton of men in my job and throughout my day.
- I had no idea how much I needed this : connecting to by body and self.
- I am so grateful to hear that I am on a shared path just like everyone else who is here.
- I felt deeply led, guided and supported by you and the group.
- It was truly transformational.
Through movement, we remember.
WE REMEMBER, THAT AS WOMEN, OUR PHYSICAL ESSENCE IS WISE, WILD, AND FREE.
WISE: INSPIRED BY THE WISDOM OF YOGA
WILD: THE CREATIVE EXPRESSION IN DANCE
FREE: THE FREEDOM TO FEEL PLEASURE IN THE BODY THROUGH SENSUAL MOVEMENT
"Qoya is so much more than movement. Through Qoya, we tap into the pulse of life. You know those moments where you see a sunset, when you’re on the open road and life feels full of possibility, when you are caught up in the contagious laughter of a child, when you feel the warmth of your lover’s body in bed, when you experience the fulfillment of work that you are proud of – when life expands and becomes sacred?
Qoya is based on the idea that through movement we are able to tap into this essence, this sacred pulse of life. Once we experience it, we learn how to honor and express it. We learn how to cultivate this sense of the sacred, more and more, and not only in our dance, but in our lives.
We reach out to our community, empower ourselves physically, clarify our intentions, and dance with our desires. In doing so, we activate a movement of women who connect with their essence as wise, wild, and free. We stand for the embodiment and feeling of more feminine ways of being that include but are not limited to deep transcendent love, intuition, transparency, self-expression, and radiance. We encourage one another to shine confidently as a woman who knows she is wise, wild and free." - Rochelle Schieck, Creator of Qoya
